This column is based on the meeting of ten children (7-10 years) and a school psychologist in the School Crayères: around a given theme , children express themselves freely, with their words, their daily lives.
The spontaneity of children and their spirit slightly "reckless" helped to integrate this small circle and swipe microphones and cameras without destroying confidence and freedom of expression. ACTIONS IN TIME SCHOOL PROJECT

VIDEOKIDS

His goal is to help children understand that a picture does is not only the result of a camera, but the intelligent and sensitive person who composes and constructs the image behind the camera.

Launched 5 years ago, This project addressed three classes of CE1 and CE2.
Today, it is for six classes, 150 children of average prices of Schools Jean Jaures, Bachelin (2 classes), Crayères, Belle and Noue Vignes Blanches.

The goal is to get kids to build, create an active image to "sharpen" their view of the spectator. The establishment of such a workshop for each child requires a consideration of the group, teamwork, leading to listening to others, respect for others' work and a coherent social involvement within the group.

This action, conducted by Philippe Manceau, Frederic VOULYZE, Virgil and LACROIX Christophe Guillaume, is primarily to teach children handling equipment, camera and camcorder.

Once the material well in hand, children learn to create the image by intervening on the subject, the staging of plastic parts or working on the video signal through a board of effect. One Both allow the child to create, build his own image.

The video has a quality that television operates extensively since its inception: Direct.

Thus, through various techniques such as pixilation, very close to the cartoon, making it possible to move the characters created from scratch (paper cutouts, clay ...) or real, for gambling color or material, with the authority of special effects, with the graphics tablet, can view the video at the same time the image of the subject being filmed. A real discovery for the child to control his body or his expressions into space from the Monitor. After

twenty sessions, the child actor, the child behind the camera, a master of his subject and, at the end of the course will be able to create a short film.

Supported by the city of Epernay in the context of the association "School and Culture, the project is also funded by the General Council, the Regional Direction of Cultural Affairs and a self - financing TCB

ENVIRONMENT PROJECT

Under the City contract and the proposed educational activities relating to Environment. TV Bernon Center offers an action video CRAYERES School Leadership I and II Bernon.

The purpose of this weekly workshop that touches sixty students is to get children thinking about their environment through practical video in any form whatsoever; reports, leading a section on the Bernon Center TV antenna, creating short clips ...
This work on the environment is not compulsory labor, but strict and rigorous course a reflection of the child's environment, reflection induced by a research video.

remobilise child on the environment that is the main theme of the action.
Thus, after an introduction to the practice of video, children can work very fast motion animation techniques and image and reporting skills.

A preliminary survey of Bernon, camera in hand, lets take stock of the problems in the neighborhood but also to identify issues affecting the environment:

-Discovery of Nature.
-The floral aspect of a neighborhood.
- Cleanliness.
- The noise ...

Thus cigarettes, oil stains, garbage bags become so many characters that resonate with viewers about the environmental problems.

CINEMA PROJECT

past century, spectators in more or less pay the right to attend a show that consists of watching moving images on a screen. Multiple individualities, for a century, devoting time, energy, talent, and sometimes a little more, to "create" or "produce" not objects but works that exhibit the characteristic of n ' exist only thanks to a beam light projected onto a flat surface.

Today, film coexists with a rival very close to him on television. Ubiquitous in homes, she lets out a steady stream of moving images and for years now she has become an essential vector of cinema by the home video market. By this we can ask what may represent in the eyes of children the art of film. Very few go into the rooms, many reflect this by videotape at home. Yet the magnetic signal present on the videotape is only a means of reproduction "domestic" film and single photographic film infinitely more precise can claim the status of cinema.

Giving an awareness of cinema - cinema spectacle - from the origins to today, children of 9 classes in the school Crayères, this is the goal set by the association PTA
Indeed, children have sex with the image of increasingly poor. Often passive programs where they undergo their imagination has no chance to flourish, where their mental faculties are often neglected.

Getting them to define a framework to perform choice of color, composition, producing an image is placed in the situation where the camera becomes creative brush holder and the subject of creation.

The goal is to get kids to build, create an active image and, thereby, to "sharpen" their eyes from spectator to make them aware that a picture is the result of a tool - the camera - behind which stands a person who made smart and sensitive, built this image.
Cinema is an art still young and it's not too presumptuous to draw children with a history of cinema around these different technological developments and major themes.

From camera obscura to magic lanterns, chronophotographs of Muybridge's photographic rifle of Marey, the praxinoscope Reynaud's Kinetoscope in Edison, it took centuries of technological developments to reach the Lumière brothers. Yet in December 1895 marks the birth of art throughout the twentieth century matures. These steps encompass the transition from silent to sound, techniques of shots "static" in camera movement, black and white to color, format "classic" in Cinemascope, the trick Méliès the images ...

This topic is discussed with a group of children and provide a transition between the other parties while recounting chronologically technical developments which mark the history of cinema.

These themes can develop a film about a history of cinema where children are both technicians and designers, writers and directors.

These themes are addressed simultaneously by and with classroom teachers.

ACTIONS NOT TIME SCHOOL

Z
PROJECT AS VIDEO

Started in July 1992, Z as an animation video provides weekly youth Beausoleil between 8 and 12 years. Performed in each session, a newscast can be addressed and to develop practical techniques of the video tool.

Thus groups of children fall into crew (outside) and
editing team and presentation of filmed subjects (in studio). This formula contains
the double advantage of allowing children to be actors and directors of their own images but also power out of the neighborhood context by carrying out various stories around Beausoleil, such as visiting the fire station or residence of the elderly ...

The installation of these reports came to different local video with the appropriate technical equipment: the children can build generic, perform animations, or present different issues.
Placing children in a situation of reporters surveying their neighborhood in search of any information they can take another look at their environment as daily and extend it - it to adjacent neighborhoods.

Another motivator for children each session must be a new number that will be broadcast on the TV antenna Bernon Center and must be ended in the afternoon (the delay is not allowed!).
This technique allows to value acquired through practice, but mostly it allows the child to participate in the development and implementation of the program at each meeting, the meeting - it ends with viewing of issue.

St'Art 94

St'Art The project is aimed at youth 16 to 25 years and leads to personal development through culture & art practices. Led by professional artists, youth will throughout the course explore their potential and so out of a sense of repeated failures in which they were.
